Concert Photography

Concert photography had always been a creative goal of mine, so I began developing my skills through assignments in my photojournalism courses. These projects challenged me to shoot in low-light conditions, capture fast-moving performers, and document the energy and emotion of live crowds, all essential elements of compelling concert photography.

To build my portfolio, I started attending local shows in Denton and proactively networked with venue owners at places like Rubber Gloves and the now-closed Andy’s Bar. Through those connections, I gained access to shoot a variety of live performances under the purpose of portfolio development. I photographed using both my Canon EOS R8 and Canon EOS 70D with 70–200mm and 18–135mm lenses, and edited and organized the images in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. This experience deepened my technical capabilities while strengthening my confidence as a visual storyteller in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
