2024 Solar Eclipse
On April 8, 2024, I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to photograph the total solar eclipse as part of an event coverage assignment for my photojournalism course at the University of North Texas. This assignment challenged us to create a full photo package documenting a significant moment, and the eclipse offered a rare and visually powerful subject.
I used both my personal Canon 70D with a 135mm lens and a Canon EOS R8 borrowed from the UNT Journalism equipment room to capture a range of detailed and wide-angle shots. Post-processing was completed in Adobe Photoshop to enhance clarity and contrast while preserving the authenticity of the moment. One of my eclipse photos was selected for publication alongside my classmates' work in a feature article, showcasing our collective documentation of the event. This project highlights my skills in event coverage, technical photography, post-production editing, and editorial storytelling.
